The broch was probably built in around 100BC. Once inside, the visitor today can still climb the tower by way of the remarkable
staircase which remains intact, between the outer and inner circular walls (see HU4523. Mous

The interior probably had at least two floors but today's visitor looks up from the ground floor to a circular view of the sky,
surrounded by the various holes for lintels and accesses (ee HU4523 Mousa: inside the broch).
