Chinese or Manchu ladies dressed in European fashion playing a board game, a rare work by painters in the Qianlong emperor's court (18th c) during the Qing dynasty. Now in the Museum of Ethnology, Hamburg, it's said to have originally decorated the old Summer Palace near Beijing.
