Es zeigt sich jetzt, wie falsch es war, von #Twitter nach #Bluesky & #Threads zu gehen. Auch wenn es sich im blauen Himmel angenehmer anfühlt, so bindet er doch die Flüchtlinge an die USA. „Mundus sine caesaribus“ ist halt keine rein private Entscheidung.
#Twitter („𝕏“) war mal ein sehr gutes Werkzeug für Kommunikationsforschung, bevor Elon Musk die #API stark beschränkt hat, weil es einen privilegierten Zugang für akademische Projekte gab. Soweit es zur Überwachung des #DSA dienlich ist, ist das in den EU-Mitgliedsstaaten weiterhin einklagbar.
Forscher wollten herausfinden, ob Aktivitäten auf der Plattform X die Bundestagswahl beeinflussen können. Dafür brauchten sie Daten. Als sie diese nicht bekamen, klagten sie auf Herausgabe.
Verstehe eh nicht, wieso das so ein großer Markt ist. Ich bin ziemlich werbeblind bei Social Media und Co. Bei Twitter kommt man nicht drum herum – aber das ist nur vollkommen irrelevantes Zeug.
In #Göttingen the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Dynamics and Self-Organization leaves #Twitter. The SUB library and the MPI for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity did so shortly before Christmas. The university, the MPI for Solar System Research and the MPI for Multidisciplinary Sciences go on tweeting as usual. Their joint IT service GWDG had its last post on Nov. 2023. #eXit #WissXit
While people continue to leave #Twitter, 𝕏 rises API prices massively. This will definitely kill a lot of third party applications which need read access. Fi. #Fedica is giving up all community analysis in its free plan.
Sorry for the many posts. I use the #Fediverse client #Friendica for cross-posting to #Bluesky, #Twitter and #Tumblr and have connected my #WordPress blogs via Friendica's hidden remote_self method. This resulted in this unwanted mass posting.
