ObjectiveHelpExamplesSourcesCopyright and LicenseObjective
biblatex-archaeology provides a collection of style files for LaTeΧ’ biblatex bibliography package. It is designed for the use of German researchers into material culture, especially prehistorians and medieval archaeologists. Generally their bibliography styles are more or less variations of the guide lines of the Römisch-Germanische Kommission (RGK), nowithstanding of being verbose, numeric or inline styles. I tried to develop generic styles, that cover all the needs and allow for easy generation of local styles. Refer to the enclosed manual document for further details.Help
Since biblatex-archaeology is an extension to the well-known biblatex package, first make sure that you have a basic knowledge of the latter. Then read the main part of the biblatex-archaeology manual carefully.

Sources
There are two ways to obtain the sources. The development code is hosted on GitHub. It includes Perl and shell scripts to speed up the development process but lacks ready-to-install LaTeX sources and PDF docs as those are generated from a DocStrip container. The GitHub files are divided into a development and a master branch. The development branch holds the current status of the development while the master branch provides the development code of the current release.

The CTAN distribution lacks all development-only scripts but contains the full bundle of production files in return. The path on the mirrors is
CTAN:macros/latex/contrib/biblatex-contrib/biblatex-archaeology
As it provides only the current release you can obtain past releases here. These are the original archives as were uploaded to CTAN. A TDS compliant archive is included starting with v2.2. A changelog is to be found in the manual.

- v1.1 (May 27, 2017 – as far as I remember the CTAN archive did not work at all due to an incident under the packaging process. Anyway, the follow-up release came in very soon.)

The Hessisches Landesmuseum #Kassel (GER) owns a couple of #chess sets from the legacy of the landgraves of Hessen-Kassel. The one shown here is made in silver by Nikolaus Ostertag around 1700. Pieces symbolize Romans vs. Africans. Back in 2019 I counted 7 sets in the permanent #exhibition – and according to Antonius van der Linde there are more in the #museum stockrooms. 📷 my own.

The grave of Hugo Fähndrich (1851-1930) on Vienna's new Jewish cemetery. The grave has no tombstone. The rounded one in the center of the picture belongs to the next row, but helps to identify Fähndrich's resting place in front of it. #Chess
The famous violinist, David Oistrakh (b. 1908, Odessa; d. Amsterdam, 1974), pictured at home in Moscow in 1958. Like Prokofiev, he was an avid #chess fan; the two played a match in 1937.
